It was requested, and now I give it to you. What is the deal with Springtrap. I still see people asking about him, like, “Why does he kill you!?” and “How did Purple guy die in him?!” Well my friends, I am here to answer these questions and a few others as well. Keep in mind, these are not official answers, they are more of just my theories, but they are fully based off the game and what I saw

Why does Springtrap kill you?

Well, some people can easily answer this by saying, “He is an animatronic, just like the others,” but I feel that he has the same thing going on as the other animatronics. One word children. Possession. Similar to the other animatronics who were possessed by children spirits, Springtrap is actually possessed by Purple man, that, or Purple guy is magically still alive and isn’t killing the player, but is rather trying to get help of some sort.  Maybe..but then again, I like the spirit possessing the animatronic as well. I can hear some of you going, “BUT RAINBIW! HOW COME SPRINGY MOVES SO FLUIDLY?! HE MUST BE HOOMAAAANNN!”

Well then child, first of all, calm the hell down, and second of all, no, he isn’t human, he is a robot, but, he is possessed by a human, and because purple guy wasn’t like most, he must not be like most spirits either.

How did Purple Guy die in Springtrap?

Well, if you listen to the phone call on night 2, Phone guy is explaining how the animatronic suits can be worn by people if correctly set up. He said,( word for word )

“So please pay close attention while learning how to operate these suits as accidents/injuries/death/reparable and grotesque maiming can occur. First and most discussed is how to operate the mascots while in animatronic form. For ease of operation, the animatronics are set to turn and walk towards sounds they hear which is an easy and hands off approach to making sure the animatronics stay where the children are for maximum entertainment/crowd-pleasing value. To change the animatronics to suit mode, insert and turn firmly the hand crank provided by the manufacturer. Turning the crank will recoil and compress the animatronic parts around the sides of the suit providing room to climb inside. Please make sure the spring locks are fastened tight to ensure the animatronic devices remain safe.”

And on night 3 he says,

“"Uh, hello, hello. Uh, for today's lesson, we will be continuing our training on proper suit-handling techniques. When using an animatronic as a suit, please ensure that the animatronic parts are tightly compressed and fastened by the spring-locks located around the inside of the suit. It may take a few moments to position your head and torso between these parts in a manner where you can move and speak. Try not to move or press against the spring-lock inside the suit. Do not touch the spring-locks at any time. Do not breathe on the spring-locks, as moisture may loosen them, and cause them to break loose. In any case of the spring-locks comes loose while you are wearing the suit, please try to maneuver away from populated areas before bleeding out, as to not ruin the customers' experience. As always, if there is ever an emergency, please go to the designated safe room. Every location is built with one extra room that is not included in the digital map layout programmed in the animatronics or the security cameras. This room is hidden to customers, invisible to animatronics, and is always off-camera.”

Now! Why would Scott put this in here? Well, it is important to the story. In the bad ending, you see Purple guy with the 5 spirits of the children and he seems scared, running away from them before jumping into the Springtrap suit. But what I think happened is he got in it so fast that he didn’t fasten the spring locks, thus, the animatronics parts popped back out and crushed him. So, he died.

Let me know what you think down in the comments, I’d love to know.
