Phone Guy’s Identity

Yeah, I’m pretty sure you know him. The guy famous for annoying you with that constant “Uh, Hello?”. I think that you think you know him well. Well, here’s the thing.

You don’t know him as much as you think.

Remember those death mini-games in FNaF 2? Those are ABSOLUTELY crucial to understanding what I’m saying. But before we talk about that, let us talk about the game’s timeline. BIT OF TRIVIA HERE: Slapping a big 2 or 3 on the title doesn’t make it a sequel.

We know the second game takes place in 1987 (Paycheck) . However, there WAS a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza BEFORE this one. This is stated from Phone Guy in game 2, night 2.

“Uh, those are from the previous location. We just use them for parts now.”

Plus, the various posters around the establishment welcome you to this “new” location.

But even BEFORE THAT, there was another restaurant named Fredbear’s Family Diner. This is stated by Phone Guy in game 2, night 5.

“Uh, we're going to try to contact the original restaurant owner. Uh, I think the name of the place was..."Fredbear's Family Diner" or something like that.” We should know, by calculating minimum wage, that the first game takes place in 1993. I don’t know FNaF 3’s place exactly, but I can estimate. We DO KNOW that it comes after FNaF 2 and FNaF 1. For example, Chica’s FNaF 1 design and Puppet from FNaF 2. Plus, it takes place 30 years after FnaF 1’s restaurant closed, so I can assume it takes place in 2023.

So here would be a timeline.

Fredbear’s Family Diner     Rotten FFbP     FNaF 2 (1987)       FNaF 1 (1993)       FNaF 3 (2023)

The first death mini-game, “Take Cake to the Children” has you playing as Freddy, carrying cake to six (two in the mobile version) children as fast as you can. There happens to be a crying child outside the building. This one child is the key that starts the ignition. Eventually, you start moving slower and eventually stop dead while a purple car pulls up next to the crying child, with a Purple man stepping out next to the child. He stops crying, then cries some more. He then dies, and you get jumpscared. AGAIN. However, look at the dead child closer. Notice how his tear marks remain, even when dead? What animatronic has tear marks? The Puppet. Who jumpscares you at the end of the mini-game? The Puppet. We’re getting somewhere. We can assume that this takes place in Fredbear’s Family Diner. There’s only one animatronic, Freddy. Also, note the small establishment. In those days, any building’s area greater than 500 square feet is for rich people.

In another death mini-game, you play as The Puppet in a mini-game called “Give Gifts, Give Life.” The title might be wordplay of the phrase “Give the gift of life.” You put presents in front of four dead children, then you put four animatronic heads on them. (Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy) You get jumpscared once again, by Golden Freddy.

Dare to look again?

In the single frame before Golden Freddy’s head eats you up, there is a FIFTH child. Have I PULLED YOUR STRINGS yet? (Hah-hah, puns.)

In the next minigame, Foxy must rush over to meet five children. After two runs, the same mysterious Purple Guy stares at you, smiling. When you rush over to meet the children again, they seem lifeless. That’s when Foxy jumpscares you. Thats more proof of five killed children. Foxy is the Phone Guy’s favorite animatronic, as said in game 2, night 3.

“Like I said, he was always my favorite.”

Now we have the mystery of who DID kill the children, and we know who. It has to be an employee, because only an employee would have access to backstage areas and animatronic suits. Phone Guy is the murderer.

Please, do I even need to explain why? He is an employee, (based on his terms of speech when referring to company workers) and he seems to know a great deal more than what he tells you.

Now, the Mini-game Savethem. You follow the Puppet as Freddy, and you stop at a certain room. You have an incredibly rare chance of being chased by the Purple Guy, and, when touched, will create a screen of blue (not red) static with the words “you can’t” in the bottom left corner. The Purple Guy now has a yellow badge on his body, and is holding something. Ladies and gentlemen, that doesn’t look like any Atari 2600 knife or gun I know. That, ladies & gentlemen, is a PHONE.

When he dies in Night 4 of FnaF 1, you seem to think that all of the animatronics killed him.

WRONG! Well, a little bit anyway.

In FnaF 3, after beating night 5, you play as one of the dead children, and you must go to the room that The Purple Guy tried to lead the animatronics into. That room is the “safe room” that employees go to in case of an emergency. It is not in the database of the animatronics, so they cannot enter that room. When you enter, the Purple Guy is panicking, and the four other dead children are there. When you try to approach Purple Guy, he jumps away, and eventually runs into what appears to be a Springtrap suit, tries to stand up, and dies (in a somewhat grotesque way).

The phone call on night 4, game 1, actually is the dead children trying to force the Purple Guy into the Springtrap suit. On night 5, the Purple Guy could be speaking something to you, but the suit is distorting his speech.

Plus, you can see some organs in the rips in Springtrap’s suit. (I saw a little bit of the heart and the small intestine, even veins. Blech.) Also, on the three rare boot screens, You can see the Purple Guy’s eyes, mouth, and other disturbing details.

You may comment about my theory, but please don’t be rude. These are my opinions. You have your own opinions. Keep them to yourself.
