Here are some Do's and Don't's that you can carry out in certain scenarios.

Spam Edit

Spam is most commonly seen in chats, but can also be found in forums, too. It's main purpose is to disrupt conversations and to bring attention away from everyone else and onto the spammer, but it can also be used to crash connections. Here are some Do's and Don't's that you can carry out in the event of spam.

Do Edit

  • Ping an admin or moderator if in chat.
    • A ping is a loud noise that plays for a user when a ping phrase is mentioned by another user in chat.
    • Most admins and mods have their name or a portion of their name as a ping.
    • Some admins have terms such as "spam", "admin", and "mod" in their ping list.
    • Pings are not case sensitive.
  • Post a message on an admin's wall if the spam occurs in a blog post along with a link to the blog post.
  • Ignore the spam.
  • Do not speak until the spam has subsided or an admin/mod has corrected the situation, unless you are notifying an admin or mod.

Don't Edit

  • Spam along with the spammer.
    • "OH MY GOD THIS GUY IS SPAMMING PLEASE BAN HIM PLEASE I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!11!!"
  • Talk to the spammer, harass the spammer, or ask/tell the spammer to stop.
    • "Lol that's funny"
    • "Stupid jerk"
    • "Stop spamming"
  • Complain about the spammer.
    • "OMG SPAM!!!11"
    • "STUPID IDIOTS KEEP SPAMMING IN THE CHAT GET OUT YOU DUMMY!!!11!!"

Harassment Edit

Harassment is most commonly seen in chats, but can also be found in forums, too. Vandalism Edit

Vandalism is most commonly seen on articles, but can also be found in on Message Walls, too. It's main purpose is to present false information or to display messages to shock the readers. Vandalism can be accidental. Reverting edits can be a confusing process and cause some mix-ups for both administrators and users alike. One must determine as to whether an edit was in good faith. Here are some Do's and Don't's that you can carry out in the event of vandalism to a page.

Do Edit

Don't Edit

  • Make a rude or unnecessary Edit Summary.
    • "You're dumb"
    • "Wow, really?"
    • "Are you joking?"
    • "-_-"
  • Harass the vandal on their profile or in chat.
  • Tell the vandal to stop on their profile or in chat.
  • Make remarks to the vandal on their profile or in chat.

Unnecessary Page Creation Edit

Unnecessary Page Creation is most commonly committed due to the lack of knowledge on how to create an official blog post or just to vandalize. Here are some Do's and Dont's that you can carry out in the event of Unnecessary Page Creation.

Do Edit

  • Delete all content on the page and replace it with either {{Delete|Reason}} or {{Del|Reason}}.

Don't Edit

  • Rename the page.
  • Leave content on the page.
  • Add categories.
  • Harass the creator on their profile or in chat.
  • Tell the creator to stop on their profile or in chat.
  • Make remarks to the creator on their profile or in chat.
  • Leave rude or unnecessary Edit Summaries or Reasons for Deletion.

Mass Spam or Harassment Edit

Mass Spam or Harassment can occur for the same reasons as listed above, just in huge amounts, generally performed by a group or one person with multiple accounts. Here are some Do's and Dont's that you can carry out in the event of Mass Spam or Harassment.

Do Edit

  • Ping an admin or moderator if in chat.

    • Some admins have terms such as "spam", "admin", and "mod" in their ping list.

Baiting/Trolling Edit

Baiting and trolling is essentially stating an opinion or taunting just to get a response out of someone and cause massive arguments and disputes, generally by insulting a certain fan-base, age-group, sex, gender, ethnicity, etc. After the response has been received, the fisher or troll will tend to either blame it on you or get very aggressive with their taunts. Here are some Do's and Don't's that you can carry out in the event of baiting.

Do Edit

  • Take a break from the chat if you feel you can't control yourself.

Don't Edit

  • Talk to the offender, harass the offender, or ask/tell the offender to stop.

    • "Stop trolling"
  • Complain about the offender.
    • "OMG TROLL!!!11"
    • "STUPID IDIOTS KEEP BAITING IN THE CHAT GET OUT YOU DUMMY!!!11!!"
