I've been doing research for the past few months, and now, things are starting to click together, and here's one of them:
When does FNAF4 take place?
I used to think it was 1987, as it was heavily implied, but upon a closer look, some people started saying 1983.
The answer is...
1987. Hear me out. FNAF4 takes place AT THE SAME TIME as FNAF2. The 1987 location.
The one thing everyone fails to realize is that despite all the hints and subliminal messages, the restaurant in the FNAF 4 minigames isn't called Fredbear's Family Diner EVEN ONCE. It went completely un-named. Now, I myself thought this was also the case...
...but then we saw creepy green-eyed girl from the FNAF4 Night 3 minigame, who mentions rumors of kids being kidnapped and killed and their bodies never being found, and the animatronics coming to life at night...
...which PERFECTLY matches the missing children incident, which occurred at the ORIGINAL Freddy Fazbea's Pizza, which was made after Fredbear's. Need more proof? Why do you think the FNAF4 kid is crying? Well, Matpat from Game Theory made a hypothesis that nobody else thought of: In the beginning of FNAF4 when the crying child is locked in his room, if you go over to his plushies, he says that they're his friends. We then see these plushies on the final minigame of FNAF4, saying things like "We're still you're friends." Why?
They're the missing kids. The crying child saw all 5 of his friends get kidnapped and killed during the missing children incident, and has been morbidly depressed since. (Well, the whole thing is morbid, but that's besides the point.)
We don't know what caused Fredbear's to close down, but it COULDN'T have been the bite of 83, because in FNAF4 the missing children's incident, and in turn the original Freddy Fazbear's, occurred BEFOREHAND, which means the bite of 83 likely doesn't exist.
But there's even MORE proof, particularly regarding FNAF2. In FNAF2, you get phone calls each night from the phone guy regarding what to do, but in night 3, he mentions something:
Hello hello! See? I told you you wouldn't have any problems! Did...uh... Did Foxy ever appear in the hallway? Probably not. I was just curious. Like I said, he was always my favorite. They tried to remake Foxy, ya know? Uh, they thought the first one was too scary, so they redesigned him to be more kid-friendly and put him in Kid's Cove. To keep the toddlers entertained, you know... But kids these days just can't keep their hands to themselves. The staff literally has to put Foxy back together after every shift. So eventually they stopped trying and left him as some 'take apart and put back together' attraction. Now he's just a mess of parts. I think the employees refer to him as just "The Mangle." Uh...
Oh, hey, before I go, uh, I wanted to ease your mind about any rumors you might have heard lately. You know how these local stories come and go and seldom mean anything. I can personally assure you that, whatever is going on out there, and however tragic it may be, has nothing to do with our establishment. It's just all rumor and speculation... People trying to make a buck. You know... Uh, our guard during the day has reported nothing unusual. And he's on watch from opening til close.
Okay, well anyway, hang in there and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Now lets look at FNAF4.
IAs I mentioned before, in one of the minigames, the green-eyed girl mentions rumors of about Freddy's in order to scare our main protagonist. (What a bitch.)
This mingiame is shown after...NIGHT 3. OF FNAF4. THE FNAF4 MINIGAMES ARE TAKING PLACE ALONGSIDE FNAF2.
More proof? Here's the night 5 phone call:
Hello? Hey, good job, night five! Um, hey, um, keep a close eye on things tonight, okay? Um, from what I understand, the building is on lockdown, uh, no one is allowed in or out, y'know, especially concerning any...previous employees. Um, when we get it all sorted out, we may move you to the day shift, a position just became...available. Uh, we don't have a replacement for your shift yet, but we're working on it. Uh, we're going to try to contact the original restaurant owner. Uh, I think the name of the place was..."Fredbear's Family Diner" or something like that. It's been closed for years though, I doubt we'll be able to track anybody down. Well, just get through one more night! Uh, hang in there! Goodnight!
Firstly, something bad happened, causing the place to go into lockdown.
Hmm...I wonder what why that could be...
One other thing: It's implied that the dayshift security guard got fired for unknown reasons.
Who could've been the dayshift worker?
Oh, look, it's Purple Guy, possibly stuffing somebody in a suit in the back room on the night 2 minigame, during the day presumably. Maybe THAT'S why he got fired: he's being investigated, and was probably let go due to suspicion, or somebody found out.
So that's nice and dandy, but there's one thing worth explaining: Why is Fredbear seemingly the main attraction here?
Well, remember the night 5 phone-call? Here's another thing I noticed:
Goodnight!
The "Original restaurant owner"? So...the original owner of the FNAF2 location? A place that was once known as Fredbear's Family Diner? That would explain Fredbear himself being plastered everywhere...
...but where are the Toy Animatronics? Well, for that, I unfortunately don't have an explanation yet. I do know though that a Fredbear suit exists in the back room of the FNAF2 location, as mentioned in night 6:
Hello? Hello...uh...what on earth are you doing there, uh didn’t you get the memo, uh, the place is closed down, uh, at least for a while. Someone used one of the suits. We had a spare in the back, a yellow one, someone used it...now none of them are acting right. Listen j-just finish your shift it’s safer than trying to leave in the middle of the night. Uh we have one more event scheduled for tomorrow, a birthday. You’ll be on day shift, wear your uniform, stay close to the animatronics, make sure they don’t hurt anyone okay, uh for now just make it through the night, uh when the place eventually opens again I’ll probably take the night shift myself. Okay, good night and good luck.
A birthday is ALSO mentioned. I think that birthday ended up somewhat like this:
Get this: Purple Guy first TAMPERED with the animatronics so that they wouldn't protect the kids or go after him, and then, the birthday massacre ensued the following day. Chances are, Purple Guy either killed or injured Jeremy and wore his badge to trick the kids, and then let all hell break loose. He had a field day killing off any potential witnesses of the Bite of 87.
Hell, even the TIME OF YEAR in FNAF2 and FNAF4 can be matched. Phone Guy tells us on Night 1:
Uh, hello? Hello, hello? Uh, hello and welcome to your new summer job at the new and improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Uh, I'm here to talk you through some of the things you can expect to see during your first week here and to help you get started down this new and exciting career path.
I know there was more to that call, but this journal is already long enough as is.
Anyway, FNAF2 is during the summer. Now, look at what most of the kids are wearing in the FNAF4 minigames:
Whether it's shorts, skirts, or short-sleeve shirts, these are all outfits you'd see in the summer, most likely.
(I don't know why the paychecks in FNAF2 say November. Can't figure it out yet. But to be fair, would YOU be wearing these kinds of clothes during Novermber, which is when WINTER comes around?)
So...what about the Fredbear and Friends easter egg? What does that mean? It's most likely another example of Scott trying to mislead us.
Anyway, I think I made my point clear. Please share this with the rest of the FNAF community if you agree, or at the very least appreciate my findings.
Hope you don't mind if I copy/paste it, it's just easier for me to read this way
???????? wow. Nice thiroe
Ok, the room-defense section of FNAF 4 contains the FNAF 1 Night 1 phone call, and multiple references to the original game. This sequence at least could only be happening after the FNAF 1 location has been built, which is years after 1987.
It might be possible for Fun with Plushtrap/Balloon Boy and the 8bit segments to happen at a different time. But it's post FNAF 2 in both cases, Fun With Plushtrap is a nightmare of Guard 01 (The Purple Guy) who was on duty when the Save Them Massacre happened, and saw Spring Bonnie on the attack. And the 8bit segments have the damanged Toy Animatronics in it.
And the 8bit segments have the damanged Toy Animatronics in it.
Where are the damaged Toy animatronics? If you're talking about the ones in the P/S room in SAVETHEM (because SAVETHEM has the FNAF2 map), that's the Withered animatronics, and Withered Freddy isn't there because you play as Withered Freddy.
FNAF 4 has the damanged Toy Animatronics in it during the 8-bit sequences. Toy Chica without her beak. Broken Mangle.
Ah, okay. Carry on.
