This section archives a lot of theories and speculation, which usually occurs from pre-release media, or just things that are still unknown, so please keep that in mind while reading. The page will continue to be updated with the most accurate information as more solid evidence is supplied.

You are in the Scooping Room now. Funtime Foxy has already been here today. Funtime Freddy has already been here today. Ballora has already been here today. Circus Baby has already been here today.
Ennard using Baby's voice, Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location

The Scooping Room is a secret room in Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, which can only be seen fully in the "Real Ending" of the game. It is connected to the Funtime Auditorium from the south.

Story[]

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location[]

On Night 4, the player wakes up in the Scooping Room to find themselves inside of a springlock suit, having been kidnapped by Circus Baby and stashed away where the cameras couldn't find them. During Baby's monologue, Ballora is transferred into the room and subsequently "scooped" - dismantled from the inside via a machine known as the Scooper. This leads the protagonist into Night 4, whereupon the player must wind the springlocks in the suit to prevent them from becoming too loose while the Minireenas crawl into the suit, killing the player if they do not "wiggle" enough to knock them off.

On Night 5, the player can be lured here again by Baby/Ennard, who will then reveal their true intentions before activating the Scooper and disembowling the player, and then wearing their skin to escape Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental. Also inside of the Scooping Room on this night are the dismantled casings of three animatronics laid out across the floor - Funtime Freddy, Funtime Foxy, and Ballora. There is also Bon-Bon laying across as well.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator[]

SCUP Print

Blueprints for the Scooper seen in the insanity ending of FFPS.

While the Scooping Room is not seen in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, there are blueprints for the Scooper to be found during one ending of the game. The blueprints reveal that the full name for the Scooper is Scalable Creation of Ulterior Presence, or SCUP for short. Of particular note is the Remnant Reservoir's notes which suggest the heat disables the movement of whatever has been removed from a subject and that overheating (e.g., burning) can disable the remnants permanently.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach[]

In the Scooper Ending of the Ruin DLC, the Scooper makes a brief appearance. If the player finds the hidden cameras in Chapters 1, 3, 5, and 7, during the end of Chapter 8, Cassie can run into where a new pathway has opened while being chased by The Mimic. At the very end is what appears to be a new and improved Scooping room. If the player enters the room behind scooping room, they're treated to a brief cutscene where Cassie activates the Scooper, using it to dismantle The Mimic, ending the game.

Appearance[]

Sister Location[]

TheScooper-Icon

The room consists of two large windows, a camera hanging on the left side, and a square-pattern floor. In the middle of the two windows lies the scooper. Through the entire time, lights go in and out.

The Scooper itself, sometimes referred as a robot arm, is an articulated robot that moves only in one line of direction, simply designed as a two-jointed structure. This is usually referred to for systems with ten or more interacting joints and materials. A coil runs from the base of the scooper into the scoop, possibly for administering Remnant.

Ruin[]

ScooperRuin

The scooper in Ruin seems to be nearly an entirely different looking model, having a claw-like scooping apparatus on the end of its arm, and seemingly able to move in more than in one axis of freedom.

While in Use[]

The Scooper violently lunges forward and scoops in a straight line, then retracting quickly and repeating the action until all salvageable parts, or human insides in the case of Michael, have been scooped out before coming to a rest. Getting scooped can be compared to actually being gutted. (To see this action animated, please refer to the Gallery.) In the Ruin DLC, it is only shown to drag the Mimic away, and how it "scoops" is never revealed. To be speculative, it may scoop in a way very reminiscent of a carrion bird ripping out the meat off a carcass.

True Purpose[]

The Scooper, as the name states, is a machine designed by William Afton to take out the endoskeletons of the Circus Baby's Pizza World animatronics (mostly Circus Baby and Funtime Freddy) after they murder and enclose kids in their stomachs at birthday parties, to destroy the evidence of the murders.

In the case of humans, their innards are removed and their skin is used.

Trivia[]

  • Despite Baby supposedly being in the Scooping Room, there are no signs of her in said room, though Baby is still located in the Parts & Service room, which is the reason why her empty suit can't be seen in the Scooping Room.
    • Also, her endoskeleton is still in place as shown in Parts & Service.
  • The player can easily see the Scooper on Night 4 if they look under the mouth of the springlock suit.
  • The usage of human skin for wearing is very similar to a quote from Five Nights at Freddy's:

You know, go limp. Then there's a chance that, uh, maybe they’ll think that you're an empty costume instead. Then again if they think you're an empty costume, they might try to... stuff a metal skeleton into you.
Phone Guy, Night 1

  • The object that is seen after Ballora getting scooped is a torus knot, one of the modeling "Extended Primitives" shapes, from the engine 3DS Max, used by Scott Cawthon for his known games and animations.
  • Some people speculate that the Scooper is the reason the Funtime animatronics are possessed, and for Michael Afton surviving at the end of Sister location.
    • This is potentially backed up by the blueprint of the scooper at the end of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, as it mentions a "remnant injector".
  • According to the blueprints, the Scooper was made by Afton Robotics, LLC.
  • It is interesting to note that in the Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, the Scooping Room as well as the Scooper it's self seem to have a a drastically different appearance, though the layout of the room as well as the functionality of the Scooper seem to be similar.
    • It's unknown if it's meant to be the same Room as the one seen in Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, just with an updated design, or if these changes are meant to imply there are multiple Scoopers.
