SAVETHEM is one of the random death minigames that can be played in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 after getting killed by the animatronics.

The minigame takes place at the 1987 Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, the game's main setting, where another killing incident took place prior to the events of the second game.

Full map.

The player controls Withered Freddy by using the W, A, S, D (movement), up, down, left, and right keys (facing different directions), and will have to follow the Puppet. Once arriving at a certain room with the Puppet, the game abruptly cuts to static and ends. The player can choose not to follow the Puppet and instead receive an identical ending by encountering Golden Freddy at random. However, this sometimes results in an abrupt end to the minigame following the red static then taking the player back to the title screen. Touching any of the 5 dead bodies strewn about the map will result in the same thing. While the player is walking, letters can be clearly heard called out at regular intervals, spelling out "S-A-V-E-T-H-E-M".

There are several variations of this minigame in which the player starts out in different rooms, those being Party Room 3, the Office, and Parts/Service. These are the same rooms that Withered Freddy can be seen in while traversing the pizzeria. Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, and Toy Chica are seen on stage in a room near the top of the layout. Mangle can be found in a room near the bottom of the layout at the Kid's Cove; touching it will cause the game to end in red static.

Very rarely during this minigame, William Afton will appear at the end of the room the player has entered. Afton will follow Withered Freddy, until coming into contact with him. Blue static instead of red will then cover the screen, flashing the words "you can't" at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. The game will then shut down. Afton can appear in various places, including one of the party rooms, the room before the main stage, or the main hall. Trying to run away from Afton is useless as the player is pushed away from the entrance to another room. However, it is possible to simply get out of Afton's way, thanks to which the player can avoid the game from shutting down. Afton would not be seen for the rest of the minigame if this would happen.

This particular minigame is the only minigame that doesn't feature a jumpscare.

Trivia[]

  • Webready FNAF Stylized GroupShot (1)

    The collectible McFarlane construction sets.

Some minigame character sprites (William Afton, the Puppet, Golden Freddy, and Mangle) appeared as collectible Series 1 8-bit construction set products by McFarlane.
  • It was entirely possible to avoid William Afton from getting fully caught by walking up or down. Doing so causes William to exit out of the room, with him not appearing for the rest of the minigame.
  • Similarly to Withered Freddy, Toy Freddy is missing his bow tie and top hat. Toy Bonnie also seems to be more of a light purple color, like Bonnie's, as opposed to light blue.
  • The Puppet's sprite was recycled from the "Give Gifts, Give Life" minigame.
  • This is the first time in the series where blood is seen, appearing around the restaurant where most blood puddles are seen near the children's corpses. The only other times blood is seen are in the third game during William's death in the Night 5 minigame, the Game Over screen from the fourth game, and in Sister Location when Michael is hit by the scooper in the Scooping Room.
    • If the latter two situations are excluded (as they are in first-person perspective), then there have been only two occasions in the series where blood has been seen, which occur during minigames, and by extension, there hasn't been a physical appearance of blood.
  • Balloon Boy is the only main animatronic who does not appear anywhere in this minigame.
  • Controls on Android

SAVETHEM as seen on the original mobile port.

From the mobile port, the player must control Withered Freddy by using the control panel from the bottom left corner. In other minigames from the mobile port's older version, however, the player must control the characters by dragging them.
  • From the remastered mobile ports and home consoles, getting caught by William Afton will bring the player back to the title menu instead of crashing the game. In older versions of mobile consoles, the game will simply freeze.
  • From the Clickteam Fusion 2.5 engine:
    • William Afton's minigame sprite was referred as "Man".
    • Mangle's sprite file was referred as "he was here". What this really means is unknown, but it can be presumed that the "he" is William, and he's visited the room already due to a dead child being there.
    • The dead child's sprite was referred as "you cant", similar to the same text that appears in the bottom corner when William Afton catches the player. This was heavily referenced that the player was unable to save the victims and thus ends the minigame upon full approach, despite words "S-A-V-E-T-H-E-M".
