Five Nights at Freddy's Wiki

This is a page for all Easter Eggs found in Five Nights at Freddy's.

Most of these rare moments are randomized, and can occur at any time on any night, even as early as Night 1.

List of Easter Eggs[]

"Celebrate!" Poster Honk[]

If the player clicks on Freddy Fazbear's nose from the "Celebrate!" poster from the left side of the office, it will emit a honk sound. Ever since the first game, it has been a tradition to include similar easter eggs in the series; this excludes Freddy in Space 2, Fury's Rage, and Chica in Space.

Visual Hallucinations[]

Hallucinations 3

The visual hallucinations appearing in-game, animated.

There is a 1/1,000 chance every second that the words "IT'S ME" will flash on screen in tandem with rapidly alternating images of a black-eyed version of Bonnie (with his left pupil off centered in a similar way to the medical condition strabismus, commonly known as "lazy-eye"), and Freddy Fazbear with human eyes. Sounds taken from Bonnie and Chica in the corners on Night 4 and onwards accompany these hallucinations.

These visions can happen at any time, even if the player is looking at the monitor, or when the power runs out. They are also scripted a guaranteed appearance when Golden Freddy appears in the office.

Show Stage Freddy Stare[]

Freddy Staring

There is a 1/100 chance when the monitor is brought up that one will find Freddy Fazbear facing the Show Stage camera with black eyes and white pinprick pupils. This can only occur if he is alone in the room.

If proper requirements are met, this can appear in tandem with the Pirate Cove "IT'S ME" Graffiti and the Backstage Stare and Bonnie Closeup easter eggs.

Pirate Cove "IT'S ME" Graffiti[]

553

There is a 1/100 chance when the monitor is brought up that the "Out of Order" sign will be replaced with graffiti reading "IT'S ME". This can only occur if Foxy has left Pirate Cove.

If proper requirements are met, this can appear in tandem with the Backstage Stare and Bonnie Closeup and the Show Stage Freddy Stare easter eggs.

West Hall Corner Posters[]

See Golden Freddy for more information.

There is a 1/100 chance when the monitor is brought up that the "Let's Party!" poster in the West Hall Corner will change to an image of Freddy ripping off his own head.

On even rarer occasions, there is a 1/32,768[1] chance every second that the aforementioned poster will change to a close-up of Golden Freddy. Should this occur, a child's laugh will be heard, and Golden Freddy will appear in the office once the monitor is pulled down, preparing to jumpscare the player and crash the game. This can only occur once per night.

Both of these can only occur if Bonnie is not occupying the room, though the easter eggs will pop into existence once he's left the camera.

East Hall Graffiti and Screaming Children Drawings[]

There is a 1/100 chance when the monitor is brought up that the posters in the East Hall may change to depict crudely drawn faces of screaming and crying children in a similar style to that of Edvard Munch's Der Schrei der Natur.

Similarly, there is an identical chance that the posters from the wall will be removed, with scribbled graffiti reading "IT'S ME" in their place.

These cannot occur if Freddy or Chica is in the camera feed, though the easter eggs will pop into existence once they've left said camera. These two easter eggs will appear in tandem with the third and fourth East Hall Corner Backstory Newspapers respectively.

East Hall Corner Backstory Newspapers[]

Missing children poster clean

All four newspaper clippings for the incident from the past.

There is a 1/100 chance when the monitor is brought up that the "Rules for Safety" poster in the East Hall Corner will change to one of four newspaper clippings, telling the backstory of "The Missing Children Incident".

The third and fourth variants will appear in tandem with the East Hall Graffiti and Screaming Children Drawings respectively.

These cannot occur if Freddy or Chica is in the camera feed, though the easter eggs will pop into existence once they've left said camera.

Backstage Stare and Bonnie Closeup[]

See Endo-01 for more information.

There is a 1/100 chance when the monitor is brought up that Endo-01 and rest of the animatronic heads from the Backstage will stare into the camera. This will only occur if Bonnie is not occupying the room, though the easter eggs will pop into existence once he's left the camera.

Similarly, there is an identical chance that Bonnie will stare into the Backstage camera if he is occupying it. If proper requirements are met, this can appear in tandem with the Pirate Cove "IT'S ME" Graffiti and the Show Stage Freddy Stare easter eggs.

Office Metal Door Pounding[]

ScottMetalDoorConfirmation

Scott Cawthon referring to this particular easter egg in one of Dawko's livestreams.

There is a 1/50 chance every 10 seconds for metal door pounding to be heard in the background; ranging in volume from 10 to 50. This can be heard at any point during the night (even while the monitor is up) Scott Cawthon has refused to elaborate on what the source of the sound could be.

Circus Music[]

There is a 1/30 chance every 5 seconds for a circus organ to play a short musical piece.

Foxy's Song[]

There is a 1/30 chance every 4 seconds for Foxy to sing a short song in Pirate Cove. This will only occur if Foxy is not advancing away from the curtain, so players should use this to their advantage.

Post-Mortem Golden Freddy[]

There is a 1/10,000 chance after the game over screen ends that Golden Freddy's jumpscare will load instead of the title screen.

1/9/8/7[]

As of version 1.13, setting all of the animatronic AI levels to 1/9/8/7 in the Custom Night menu and pressing "Ready" will load Golden Freddy's jumpscare. This easter egg was added in by Scott Cawthon to halt false rumors about entering the aforementioned code to obtain an alternate ending in reference to the "Bite of '87".

Eyeless Bonnie Screen[]

There is a 1/1,000 chance when the player returns to the title screen in any way that a still image of Bonnie with empty eye sockets (in a similar fashion to an image that can appear in the visual hallucinations) will appear. After 9.5 seconds, two small white pupils will appear in Bonnie's eyes for a further 0.5 seconds before the player is sent to the title screen proper.

Hidden Developer Messages[]

Surrounding the "HELP WANTED" newspaper are hidden messages from Scott Cawthon giving taunting advice towards the player.

"Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. This ad has nothing to do with anything relevant to the game. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. Chances are you won't make it past night three. Blah. Blah. Yackity smackity. Blah. Blah. This probably isn't the best choice of a summer job, since you most likely won't survive the week. I'd recommend being a cashier, sack boy, or work in a warehouse. Those are all very respectable jobs, and you probably won't be killed doing them. Well, you might, but it would be unlikely. Blah. Blah."

Trivia[]

  • Golden Freddy's poster was intended to be a 1/100,000 chance. However, due to the program overflowing with random number generation at 65,535 and being limited to 16-bit integers, the poster actually has a 1/32,768 chance of appearing.[1]
  • If a visual hallucination occurs while Bonnie or Chica are in their respective hall corners on Night 1, Night 2, or Night 3, the sound clip will continue to play until they leave the corners.
    • This bug occurs because the sound clip is the same sound that Bonnie or Chica make when in the corners during Night 4, 5, Night 6, and the Custom Night. The condition that mutes the sound requires Bonnie or Chica not to be in the corners, so the sound still plays when it's supposed to on Nights 4-7. However, it doesn't take into account what night it is, hence the bug.
    • It is believed that the sounds heard during the visual hallucinations are recordings of someone reading an excerpt from the book "Autobiography of a Yogi" written by Paramahansa Yogananda. The audio is altered to sound more demonic and horrifying.
  • The hallucinations of Bonnie may be a reference to Scott Cawthon's opinion that Bonnie is the scariest of the animatronics, even having nightmares of Bonnie while the game was still in development.
  • The visual hallucinations, metal pounding, Foxy's tune, and the circus organ, as well as Chica's noises in the kitchen, can actually play when Freddy fully shuts the lights off during a power outage.
